Toastmasters on Tour

This year, our club is launching an initiative where we plan to host communication and professional skills workshops at local middle and high schools to provide adolescents with early public speaking exposure and experience.

What will students gain?

  • Public Speaking Experience: The best way to overcome one’s fear of public speaking is practice. Our planned workshops include many speech projects to help students feel more comfortable presenting in front of an audience.

  • Life Skills Development: In addition to presenting speeches, we want to focus on important communication skills that students can apply in the future. This includes interviews, active listening, teamwork, and more.

  • Diverse Mentorship: Our club consists of members of various majors, from STEM to business to liberal arts. With our diverse experiences, we hope to serve as a mentor/support system for students while offering advice on future career paths.

  • Interactive & Engaging: Within our program, we plan to implement fun and engaging activities where students can interact with us as well as each other to make the workshops feel more exciting and approachable.
